The (more usual) morning commute
As The Bo is away and my morning doesn’t involve a school run today I can catch the bus into the city and walk up to the office. The bus service here is typical for a small UK village - it never runs as timetabled, and the planning of the alleged times takes no account of when people may find it useful to get anywhere. It’s a turn up and hope job, so no use when you’re definitely expected somewhere at 9! Supposedly all buses in the region are moving back under City control but no sign of such moves out here yet.
What better way to fill the 25 minute wait than with a blip capture? On some mornings I’d be frustrated by the wait but I’m feeling quite zen this morning, enjoying some Devin Townsend on the headphones and standing and breathing in the damp air. YES - it is damp, it has rained in the night. As you can see by the detritus on the road the trees and plants are desperate for it - so much leaf loss in August is a shock when for the last few years we’ve had leaves on the trees through to November. More rain is predicted, let’s hope the incredibly dry and hard ground can actually absorb it.
