Margie, the nap, and the orchid
Margie needs to sleep more. Perfectly reasonable for a person who is almost 99, but our time got fragmented today. She slept almost till noon and then needed to shower and dress. When I arrived at 2, she hadn’t had lunch. Her daughter keeps her fridge stocked with salads from Trader Joe’s, and today’s choice was a Waldorf salad with chicken. She ate a little less than a quarter of it, and then she needed a nap. While she napped, I read her New York Times and her collection of National Geographics. By the time she finished her nap it was 4, and she caught me enjoying one of the orchids blooming on her window sill. “Isn’t it the most beautiful thing you ever saw?” Yes, actually. It’s as if some four-year-old colored it with crayons and then pasted glitter on it. (Extra)
I had to leave at 4:30 because I had an appointment with an Apple “genius” to help me with glitches I’ve been experiencing with Lightroom Classic on my Mac Laptop. Good news on that front: he helped me find the settings in Lightroom that were causing the trouble. I think Lightroom is behaving itself now.
Maybe we’ll have a better visit on Friday. I’m glad we have two a week now.
