Vickers Wellington
I had to drop the car off in Wolverhampton for a software update, apparently it would fix among other things a fault that could cause the car to stop when the battery was exhausted, rather than the combustion engine kicking in. I'd experienced this in May, driving down the M54 and I made a fuss at the time, the service department having the car in to apply a series of software updates, which they suggested would solve the problem. I have a feeling that the service and manufacturing teams might not be quite on the same page!
I had a few hours to kill and was originally going into Birmingham but at the last moment decided to catch the train to Cosford and visit the RAF Museum. It is free entry and I hadn't been for probably 15 years. Things have changed a little, though the main hangar remains very much as I remember. It certainly used up a few hours and by the time I headed back I was called to say the car was ready.
I was pleased to see they had cleaned and valeted the car (I haven't washed it all summer with the lack of rain). They also gave me some gifts as I left (I think they realised I'd not been told the whole truth the last time about resolving the issue). Luckily, one of the gifts was an umbrella. It might be needed in the next few days!
