Autumnal
It's been a grey day, with threats of rain not carried through, but the sun suddenly broke through from the west just as it was setting. Only the tops of the trees benefitted from the illumination - these are our hybrid poplars at the far end of the garden. They always start to close down in August - the garden is sprinkled with their bright yellow leaves. The bright red in the lower left corner is the remains of one of those shiny balloons that thoughtless people like to release. It's been there for a couple of years and, as it's at least two thirds of the way up the tree, there's no way of removing it and it's obviously not going to decay. Grrr.
