Going . . .
On and off during the day I have been fascinated watching from the window a highly skilled and intrepid tree surgeon cutting down two enormous trees in the garden next door. My blip is the moment when he reached the top of the second, and taller, one. You can see how it was higher than the house, and the house is raised above ground level, so it was very tall indeed.
It was some kind of conifer, larch I think - it was huge, with large spreading branches, so one can see why they wanted rid of it. I presume it was planted when the house was built, possibly around 40 years ago and had grown far too big for a garden. It was unsafe too, we used to watch it swaying in the high winds a while back. Sad to see it no longer there though, it was the tree from which our Thrushes sang. Now there is a big space and at least we can see the view of the hills - maybe even see the sunrise behind the hill for the first time.
