Kinsale

Interesting weather.

A glorious morning. We had a longer Zodiac ride to Kinsale from the ship - described as 15 minutes.

It’s a pretty and interesting town. Fortunately, the crowds from high season have subsided so it was pleasantly just busy. Apparently, it’s very attractive to tourists and Irish youngsters just cannot buy houses as the second home market has driven prices far out of reach.

From glorious sunshine, it suddenly poured. Dashes to cafes etc. I was shouted at by an Irish lady :”This is Ireland. Don’t go out without an umbrella.” I thought - what ? With their winds ? 

Just as surprisingly as it had arrived, it cleared and we were back to the blue.

The winds and waves had increased. A very wet return to the ship and new plans for the afternoon.

Perhaps it will just mean another Zodiac ride…..and fewer passengers bothering to go ashore ?
