Shugs

I just love my job (most days anyway)

In between all the drama of getting back on track after being out of the office, I was given a lovely task to do.

One of our clients who has a very successful business but has a philanthropic approach, looks after their people really well.

This coming Monday, being the 1st of September is celebrated as Spring Day in SA and most companies do something in celebration.  Our plan is a fresh fruit basket that everyone will get, that was until today.

This year they have decided that we will also be part of their celebration.

I was sent a whopping R131,000 to go out and buy 41 Woolworths vouchers so each person will be surprised to receive a R3,000 voucher, save for our domestic who will get R4,000 (because she is the lowest paid person out of everyone).

It was a fun exercise at Woolies when I was allocated a teller who loaded each of the gift cards while I popped them into the blipped greeting card.  Then she remembered that the till printed receipts for each card that then had to be matched with the gift card number.  We were getting very strange looks from the other shoppers when one person called out the card number and the rest of us looked for the matching receipt. We had a good giggle in the process as it was like the kids game where you match the pictures that are face down and try to remember where their partner is.

I am so looking forward to Monday when I can finally share the secret and experience the joy this is going to bring.

And in between all of that, I got some work done :-)
