The Lemon Squeezer

The traffic was horrible this morning so I took a wee diversion to try and avoid the worst of it.

This is St. Charles Catholic Church in Linden which has affectionately been called the lemon squeezer for a very long time. Not too hard to figure out why.

I have only been there once, to listen to the Drakensburg Boys Choir which was spectacular as the accustics are so great. The interior is just as interesting as the exterier but I cannot say the same for the pews which I can only imagine have been designed to keep those sitting on them awake!
