Small Tortoiseshell
A day of rather unpredictable weather. When Holly and I arrived at Pollok Park there were a number of puddles just letting me know that it had been raining during the night or very early morning.
It was very warm and quite sunny for most of our walk but as we neared the end of our walk I could feel rain in the air. As we drove home through Shawlands there was a downpour of Biblical proportion and then a couple of hundred yards further on the road and pavements were bone dry.
We walked through the Gazebo Garden in Pollok hoping that we might see a butterfly but not one to be seen until we left the garden and walked by a rather withered looking Buddleia with not one but three Small Tortoiseshell butterflies flitting about and I didn't have to stand on tiptoe to take my photo.
