Now, as I see it......

Specs and Drugs and Sausage Rolls

Prescription drugs, you understand.  None of that fancy recreational stuff.

A good start to the Jazz Festival.  A Jazz Parade around town this morning to start the festival, and then on to two shows so far that we enjoyed.  The bass player in one of the bands had been a voiceover artist and was the voice of 'Tony the Tiger' on the Kelloggs Frosties TV ads.  He apologised for causing the nation years of tooth decay!  Afterwards we called in for the last fifteen minutes of this one.  It was a 'Trad' band which is not to our taste but I liked the shot of the dancers doing what looked like a Charleston.  This is the only venue that is set out for dancing; all the others are in bars and clubs around town apart from a few concerts in the local Methodist church; I don't suppose they'll have a bar in that venue.  We're giving the afternoon sessions a miss today as the only one we fancied is also on again tomorrow, but we'll be out this evening at what looks to be a couple of lively shows.  Jazz audiences tend to be rather more 'mature' than those at other types of music but despite my advancing years I still reckon we are one of the youngest couples here.

One downside to the week; over the last few months I have managed to lose quite a bit of weight but I could still do with losing a bit more.  This sort of festival arrangement pretty much means you have to find what you can to eat between shows and it isn't always easy to do so healthily.  And we are in Cornwall after all, so I'm two Cornish Pasties down already!
