A Modern Wilderness
" One is tempted to say that the most human plants, after all, are the weeds. How they cling to man and follow him around the world, and spring up wherever he sets his foot! How they crowd around his barns and dwellings, and throng his garden and jostle and override each other in their strife to be near him!"
~John Burroughs
It's actually one of the allotments at the other end of the village, opposite the church. I've photographed it in an unflattering way to be honest.
Today seems to have been much nicer weatherwise than we were led to believe. No rain in the early hours and quite a bit of sunshine this afternoon.
I'm walking down to the village hall later with Jayne as she is going to one of her keep fit classes. Hmm, shall I be a naughty boy and call in at the pub on the way back?
