Getting about
Welll that was quite a day! Got a phone call late morning from Jackie and Nick asking if I could go (for translation purposes (!!)) with Nick on his proposed electric scooter buying adventure. These machines are very popular here and Nick has been thinking of getting one for a while. I won't bore you with the details but after going to the Akbuk shop, then, to Didim to the Tax Office to register, and then to a Notary and then, whoop whoop, to the number plate maker and finally by around 5pm we were on our way back to Akbuk to collect his brand new shiny red 3 wheel/people scooter. It took a while for them to adjust the height of the handlebars but after a few practice runs up and down the road, Nick was ready to drive with a passenger (me!) on the main High St and back to their villa. Throughout all this, Nick was most defo the cat who got the cream - can you tell?
And the day wasn't over at this point either as I stayed all evening (Rufus was already there having spent the afternoon with Jackie and Lola and Lyn). Jackie had cooked a fab dinner which we sat outside on the patio to eat, and then, with an evening breeze blowing we retired indoors to play cards (again) where we laughed till late.
