Who to pick on next?
It’s hard to believe that I have reached this milestone, so I thought it would be good to share what BlipFoto has taught me over this past few years. The practice of taking daily photographs goes without saying. In principle the more images you take the more practice you get and hopefully the more proficient you get. However more important than this has been the practice of adding words to your images, recording what you felt or maybe what the photograph says is a very valuable addition to the image. This has led me into regular Substack posts, which you can follow on - https://williamrbradley.substack.com/ Images in my opinion should convey or say something, otherwise what is the point. So I continue to try and develop my voice.
Another real benefit has been going out with one camera and one fixed lens, I disregarding my zoom lenses many years ago and have no regrets, nor do I use a smart phone. This has been another crucial step in my development. Getting to know your lens is important as is visualising what it will capture. A photograph does not have to be technically correct in every respect, the important thing is that it has something to say.
Today's image was taken in Conway Square, oddly I had met these JW girls before and asked to take their photograph and they declined, so this time they are anonymous so I feel able to take the image. I thought the whole purpose of JW missionaries was to evangelise, but in this case maybe not. Notice their literature stand to the side!
