Mep, Mep, Mep

Gadwalls don't quack, they say, Mep, mep, mep in a guttural fashion. The individuals that I saw today seemed to have finished their moult. The males were showing those beautiful vermiculations in their plumage and grunt whistling.

I've always told the males in my family that one can tell if a man is a gentleman by his shoes. Not the shoes themselves but their state of cleanliness. I've therefore made a rod for my own back. My grandson has returned from Marbella and is off back to Dubai on Wednesday. I went to collect his shoes so that I can give them a thorough cleaning. I spotted a couple of Star Wars Stormtroopers in a newly built office block and stopped to get a pic for Esper. :) (Extras)
