When You've Got Nothing Else On Your Plate
Today's blip is very much of the the emergency kind and one which had a completely unexpected outcome. I'd again left it to the end of the day to try to get an image and, as is my usual practice on these occasions, was stumbling around the house in the semi darkness attempting to get some kind of shot.
I'd nearly exhausted every possibility I could think of when I saw a little silver (o.k, it's actually silver plate but my mum always insisted it was part of he family "silver" and religiously polished it with Brasso when it was required to be put out for special occasions) tray glinting on our dining room table in the almost gloom and when I went to switch on a table lamp I plugged in some miniature indoor Christmas paper lanterns (that we never actually remember to put away each year) instead and noticed that it was casting a wonderfully cherry coloured glow across the tray whilst also adding some distorted looking reflections. Sometimes having nothing else on your plate (or tray) just works! :-)
