White cliffs

We decided on a local walk today - from the campsite at Bigbury on Sea to Challaborough along the coastal path, then to Ringmore, and back to the campsite. The first bit was easy and very pleasant, with good views along the coast. It was sunny and very hot, so when we reached Challaborough we stopped and queued for ice creams, delicious and generously huge! The path to Ringmore was nice enough, but marred somewhat by large swarms of flying ants. We were hoping for refreshment - and use of the loos - at the 'Journeys End Inn in Ringmore, only to discover that it's closed on Tuesdays. C'est la vie!

The last leg of the journey took us through fields and woods, and up and down some very steep Devon hills. I was so relieved that the farmer who owns the field occupied by a huge herd of cows had put up an electric fence between them and the footpath!

A good day out and a walk that was slightly longer than anticipated - MrM had mentioned 3 or 4 km, but according to my fitness app it was nearer 10km...
