Flodden Monument

This simple monument marks the site of the last battle fought between Scotland and England almost exactly 500 years ago. 10,000 Scots including James IV and much of the Scottish nobility were killed together with some 4,000 English.

On a brighter note, we enjoyed a cycle route from Coldstream that traces the route taken by Scots army to Flodden. How long can this wonderful summer continue?
