Scene from the bike trail
Saturday
After a day and another night of rest, my knee was feeling somewhat improved, and given that it was a sunny day, I felt like trying some gentle outdoor exercise. So I decided to try cycling my bike along the road to see how it felt, and apart from it being more awkward to get my leg over the frame, whilst I was actually cycling, it felt fine - non load-bearing and a continuous smooth motion. So we loaded the bikes up, and headed to the bike trail, choosing a section where the bike trail is never far from the road, so if I should have a problem, R could go get the car. However, that wasn’t necessary, and we enjoyed a lovely ride out in the country in the sunshine. Not having been on my bike for almost six weeks, I was quite pleased how well I did. When I’d had enough, I found a bench to sit on, while R did an extra couple of miles, then we returned together. When we got back home we enjoyed a glass of iced coffee with a scoop of ice cream out on the patio. In the evening, we went out for dinner to Phoenician Taverna, our favorite Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurant.
