St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, Edinburgh

This cathedral is seemingly a theme of my recent photos, but this time I actually went inside! I attended a beautiful service of Choral Evensong to mark the retirement of the Bishop of Edinburgh and the end of the choral year. I’ve never seen so many priests in one place before — in addition to the good Bishop himself, there were multiple other Scottish Episcopal Church bishops, the Roman Catholic Archbishop, the Provost and Vice-Provost of the Cathedral, and most if not all of the diocese’s priests. I also spotted an American Episcopal priest (his stole had that province’s coat of arms) and seemingly a few other Anglican bishops. In addition to the clergy in the chancel, I spotted more than a few in the nave with the rest of us.
