Lake Crossing
I crossed the lake to Evian at 12:30 to go and visit Jean in the re-education centre perched up high above the town on a very steep slope indeed. It took me 25 mins from the lakeside to get there for 13:30 when the doors open for visitors. I took a cheese sandwich and a bottle of water with me to eat on the boat.
The main photo speaks for itself and was taken from the deck as the boat left Evian to return to Lausanne-Ouchy.
It was quite a tiring day, leaving home at 11:30 am to return at 16:30, but Jean is always so grateful when I go and visit him. He should be returning to his lakeside apartment in September and that will be easier for me without that big hill to climb.
Extras:
- Elegant sailing boat in the port and a mother swan with her four big cygnets sailing past.
- The people coming off the ferry in Evian. I had already crossed and could take this photo.
- The ferry as it came in to take me back to Lausanne
- In the dappled shade of the plane trees when I arrived down at the lake this morning. I liked the silhouetted family and the little sailing boat on the lake in the sunshine.
