Derelict Barn
I was awake early this morning (just for a change) so I managed to nip out for a little wander before Mrs madwill awoke…
Behind the pub/hotel is a yard full of old buildings and old ‘bits’. This old barn was just crying out for a blip! Just in time for this week’s derelict challenge…thanks as ever to Marlieske for hosting.
Today’s travels took us to Northallerton (North Yorkshire) where we partook of coffee and did some shopping…Mrs madwill bought a small sling bag to carry on short walks and I bought a new walking backpack (big enough to carry lunches and drinks as well as waterproofs)…which was greatly reduced…and even cheaper with a voucher that I had.
We also purchased some food and and a bottle of champagne (from Lewis & Cooper - a rather fab delicatessen) for us to ‘celebrate’ with tonight.
Then on to Mount Grace Priory - a National Trust and English Heritage property. We had lunch in the ‘orchard’..pleased to get a 10% discount with our membership card! Then we had a wander around the abbey and the formal gardens of the house.
I did mange a bit of a catch on your journals..but still have plenty to go.
