New bit of kit!
I had a meeting with DN2 last night about the way forward with the pottery studio... when she should hand in her notice, when we can realistically start working on the cabin, what days we could do between us and what we needed to get 1st. As I had already paid out over £2000 from my personal account I asked her if she could get the laptop and phone just so we were both putting in the same amount of money at the start. Rather than her have to pay me back she might as well get some supplies.
This morning DN2 messaged to say yes, she (and her BF) would get the laptop and phone on his business account. I then remembered that Mr W had been doing quite a bit of research on laptops from his Computer Active magazine and that he had already bought a years subscription to office for 3 computers in preparation for our business laptop. I think also he's wanting to do his "bit" towards helping set us up. Whilst he doesn't have any involvement in the clay side I knew he would be great at sorting out the tech side.
So I messaged Josh to check he hadn't already bought the laptop (in the few hours he had been awake!!) and said we would get it if that was ok. It just meant that we would have to put it on a credit card until the business loan kicks in but thats ok. I'm sure DN2 can purchase something else to make us even. He said that was fine.
After getting a paw print done for a dog bowl and popping out to collect some plaster board offcuts off someone (to make weighted drying slabs) we headed over to Currys. I let Mr W loose in the computer section and spoke to a laptop guy and we quickly came up with a great choice. I nice big 17" screen, fast processor and a reasonable price considering I had budgeted for £800 - we got it all for under that! After asking did they do a Defence discount they said no but gave us £100 worth of extras for free. And it was in stock so we could walk out with it!!! Result.
We came away happy and Mr W then spent the evening setting it all up while I pottered about, tidying the studio and watering the plants.
Good Day.
