Our Blackbirds

A pair of blackirds decided that our front door porch would be a great place to build a nest. Not really! The nest was at head height, perched on a wide-ish wooden ledge, and every time we went out and shut the door it must have really freaked them out. Still, full credit to mother for sitting patiently on her eggs despite all the comings and goings, and eventually two chicks hatched out. With the nest being so un-hidden, it wasn't difficult to get some rather nice shots of the babies being fed (using a long lens from a discrete distance - I did respect their privacy!)
