Old nail barrel - now my walking stick stand

I bought this old nail barrel at auction, yesterday. I've been looking for a cane stand or umbrella stand to hold my growing collection of walking sticks. This will do nicely. I wonder who R. R. Johnston was. A builder, apparently, in old West Toronto. Nothing online. Perhaps a local historical society might be able to assist.
