Portrait of the Artist
.... as an older man!
At the end of a long day, Ruth and I had a stroll along the seafront, her ebike attachment helping. A pleasant coolness as the light receded, the high tide rolling the pebbles at the very top of the beach, very close by our path. Lovely. She snapped me snapping the seascape - a better pic than mine!
Many hours earlier my preparations for work were interrupted by a message that the delivery expected at 930 had turned up at 8am today, Grr. I rushed my departure which was more complicated than usual. This was a short shift to get the cafe set up and open, with someone else coming at 1015 to cook. I had booked the day off to sell pottery and sing at the Abergynolwyn Show, down in the field below the station.
All was soon sorted once I arrived but distracted by the ice-creams sitting waiting for me, I managed to leave my key in the door, something only realised (too) many hours later. By the time the pottery stall was set up - four of us sharing the space - I was ready to have a snooze, a long one! It's been a very busy week with numerous early starts, my batteries are almost depleted. So a day sitting down was no bad thing and sales were good, many kind comments and a couple of my larger items turned out to be things that people couldn't leave without :-) The Tuesday singing group, Tra Mor Singers, performed as the final act at the end of the event and by all accounts we did good and might have picked up a new member.
I was home by 530 and snoozing on my bed not long after 6. After an hour or so I shook myself awake and sorted a meal for Ruth and myself before our evening stroll.
