Community Festivals

This was a busy day! There is so much going on in this part of the world!
This morning, I accompanied my husband to Shambellie House, near New Abbey. Charles was to attend the opening of the Japanese Community Festival  in his capacity of Deputy Lieutenant. He was to welcome Mr Takeda, the Japanese Consul General, who officially opened the event. What a brilliant event is has been (it still runs tomorrow, 24 August). Anything from origami to sumo wrestling was on display and to be participated it. Absolutely fantastic!

Then in the afternoon, I headed down to the Mill Green to watch the Nith Raid taking place. An annual festival that celebrates the importance of the river in Dumfries.
