Tools of Mass Destruction
Next door's Indian Bean Tree has been causing us problems for several years. It's a lovely tree but, for a tree that can grow to 15m in height, it's planted completely in the wrong place, right up against the fence and only 2m from the house. It's thick roots have invaded our garden, growing across the surface of the flower bed, killing off plants, and heading under the lawn and patio. We've spoken to our neighbours several times about the risk to the foundations of the house but they want to keep the tree. Today I managed to remove some of the smallest visible roots but I'm going to have to get someone in to remove the worst of the thick roots. Our neighbours have given permission for this.
Aside from wrestling with tree roots, I've belatedly potted up some plants, done four loads of laundry, plus umpteen other chores. After being constantly on the go for two months, I'm finding it hard to switch off and relax, and stop worrying about what's going on down the road.
A day of sunny intervals and a muggy 22 degrees. Thank you for your kind words and stars for yesterday's memory box.
