End-of-summer routines aren’t bad

Awake reasonably early and, while still very sore in the back department, am at least no worse. Morning passed uneventfully – decided around 10:30 on a Navan run, so packed Ottawacker Jr. into the car and headed for the hills. Back in time to drive same smaller person to the bus stop so he could go and attend his patisserie course.

Best part of his day, of course, is tasting the results of his labours. Today was chou pastry, which he insisted and then reinforced several times is not “profiterole”. They were good. Really good in fact. I am happy this is only a one-week course because my waistline – already rapidly expanding – would be turning into a small planet if it were any longer. Unfortunately, I ate the choux before realising I needed a blip for the day – so this is yesterday’s strawberry cake sans drizzle.

Dropped some of the choux off at his friend’s house and then drove them both to their football practice. Made a lightning pit stop at the LCBO and then came home to have a cold burger for dinner. It had been hot, once, when I made it.
