New bike for Bas

Yesterday evening Bas returned home safely from Croatia. He’s has a great time there with his friends but Annemarie and I are glad he’s back.

While he was away his bike was at the bicycle repair shop for some very necessary maintenance. A few days ago I got a call that the repairs would cost over € 600. What???
Bas being a parttime mailman who is using his bike intensively explains all the costs.

Since there was a second hand hardly used bike in the shop costing less then the repair, I decided to wait until Bas came home.
So, today we went together back to the shop and Bas tried this new bike. Decisions were made quickly and next Tuesday the bike on the photo will be turned into Bas’ new mailman-means-of-transport. Bags and baskets will be attached on it.

All that happened while I was painting my wall and ceiling with the final layer today. By 16:30 it was done! Finally!!!
All is RAL9010 white now. And I’m very happy with it so far. A few loose ends, but those will be taken care of.

Next week the new floor will be put in. My hope is that by next Wednesday I can put the necessary furniture back in place.
It seems I’ve only been spending money on my office (and bikes) for the past few weeks, it’s time to turn that around again and earn some money instead. For that I need my desk, chair and computer.
