Book and hyacinth progress

I read this novel in 24 hours. It is the first of a series of 3. I have read the other two and suggested to the library they get the first book which duly arrived. The date stamp in it has the 28th August which we haven’t reached yet. So I am lucky to be the first to read it. I enjoyed it, in the genre of Maeve Binchy and Monica MacInerney if you like their work. 

The second hyacinth, with just one root, has decided to start growing. It is a white one. The third looks healthy enough but isn’t interested in getting out of bed. They sure are at different levels of maturity. I put them in the vases at the end of May.
