About to turn

August blooms

Oddly it's cooler here in the mid-Atlantic this week than out in the Pacific Northwest. We've actually turned off the AC tonight and opened some windows, and it feels nice sitting here listening to an exuberant chorus of crickets and tree frogs.

This morning we watched our resident turkey family (three big ones and one smaller one) lounge in the back where we haven't mowed all year. They were enjoying bugs (well, I guess the enjoyment is an assumption on my part) and spreading their big feathers in the sun. We find feathers stuck into the lawn at funny angles.

Overall a low energy day, but I finished trimming along the front walk. Browsed the overgrown garden for some flower snaps.

Happy weekend, everyone.
