New alternator

New alternator in the Landy today. It’s been struggling for ages and when I took it out the bearings had 5mm slack in them!

However, when I put the new one in the result was even worse!!!

It turns out that both the new one and the old one had the suppressor connected to the wrong pins. Duh! … It’s been like that for years! The suppressor black box should be bolted onto the casing bolt and not the W connection.

Now fixed it is running sweetly and charging properly once again. Thank you to the technicians at Bowers alternators for putting me right.
