A small blue on heather

It has been a busy day packing and going in to the village to get last minute things we needed for the trip, like more suntan cream. The packing took ages as I roll everything and then place the items in packing cubes so it is all neatly organised - it also means with minimal space in the cabin on the boat I can keep some things in the cubes and then easily know where to find something.

I took Xena for a slow walk on the heath, I wanted to see the heather but it is already past it's best. Although it is still very warm the leaves are turning, the apples are ready to pick and the berries are fully ripe - apparently it is not a sign of early autumn but more a sign of nature being stressed due to the long hot and dry summer we have had. I found this Small Blue on the heather and managed to get a photo before it flew off again.

Adam and Anna arrived from San Diego this afternoon - Adam went straight out for a run as he is training for a marathon.

I have also prepared everything for Fiona's arrival tomorrow morning, she will come to the house after we have left, as we leave the house at 4.30am tomorrow morning, it is one of those horrible early morning flights and we had no choice in the matter. Tommy is flying directly to Corfu from Munich and Luke arrives a day later as he is going to a good friend's wedding.
