Holly Blue
This Holly Blue butterfly landed on a mint flower. I have been removing the mint flowers to encourage it to grow more but I think I will leave some there for a while.
When I saw it land I rushed/ stumbled outside, camera in hand to capture it. As the butterfly manoeuvred around the spiral of tiny florets, probing away with its proboscis, so too did I have to manoeuvre around the low pot of mint to find the best angle. My poor back, bent like a fiddle’s elbow was screaming in agony while my dodgy, bent knee creaked and groaned and contributed to the pain.
All the while I kept thinking that Vincent Van Gogh would be proud of me for suffering for my art.
