War Stories

This evening I went to an author interview at my local bookshop, attracted by having read two of Andrey Kurkov's books. They were promoting the paperback publication of one of them - Our Daily War.

He was excellent. The subject matter is tough, but his black humour helps it along. He told us he used to make up anti-communist jokes when he was a child, so at the end I asked him to tell us one. We got one about Brezhnev and another about Putin.  

The event was free, so I bought a book even although I have read it already. My cousin will appreciate it.
