Portrait of a ....
Another day, another early(ish) morning swim - I'm trying to get into the habit of doing this twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays when T is playing golf. I have made a positive start and more importantly have enjoyed doing so. There really is something rather special about swimming first thing in the morning (or rather first thing after breakfast and a walk).
Thursday is also Pitlochry Sketchers Day and this was the second week of the Needle felting taster which I was helping LN with. This week people were working on their own designs and I lent a hand as needed - it was almost like being back at work and taking a practical class :-).
Whilst I was doing AC, a newish member of both the Sketching Group and Dipping Group, did this sketch of me in action which I rather liked. She is doing a challenge in which you can only use three pens to create an image which I might have a go at. I sometimes find working under constraints encourages me to be more creative and to explore different approaches. All great fun.
Back home I caught up with some bits and pieces of admin, had a zoom with one of my Gaelic language buddies and took a new approach in practicing the voiceless velar fricative [x] or the "ch" sound in loch. I can say it fine in loch or at the end of words but find it difficult when it's a the start of a word.
