GOG

My husband sent me a text at 6.15am to say he was coming home today or tomorrow. Once I arrived, I discovered that it was today and that he had been advised not to order lunch or supper as he would be home by lunchtime. Being a doubting Thomas, which I have been all my life, we ordered both for him. His lunch arrived and we were told he would go home in about half an hour. Despite the staff on the ward chasing for the medication, it took all day for the pharmacy to prescribe and prepare a few medications to supplement what we already had. After he had eaten his supper, they sent a nurse to collect them. I do not believe the medication had been prepared as she was gone for an hour. I know it always takes a while, but we finally left the hospital at 6.15pm; a full twelve hours after the decision had been made.

Today’s picture is of him after he arrived home, looking very tired after a very long day.

The temperature today – twenty-three degrees Celsius.
