A peaceful graveyard
Today Janet drove me to Danby Village and we visited the graveyard beside the parish church. Some of you will remember that Viewpoint’s partner, Ann, died almost exactly 5 years ago. She is buried here.
We took flowers from Janet’s garden for 3 graves. Janet’s school friend, Carlo, and her father are buried side by side. Carlo, also a doctor, died at the age of 29 while working overseas.
Ann’s grave is no longer in the last row, but there is still a beautiful view over the dale.
We enjoyed soup for lunch at the Great Fryupdale cycle hub, feeling slightly out of place amongst all the fluorescent Lycra!
On to the visitor centre at Danby, where Janet volunteers on Tuesdays, to see the current exhibition of work by local artists. We spent time discussing using the relative merits of the works.
We had tea/coffee and cake at the Danby Village Bakery.
We are back at Janet’s relaxing.
Aggie has been sulky and uncomfortable all day, but that was to be expected.
