A day at home today...

... most of it spent in the kitchen. I finally tackled the frozen chickpeas and turned them into a big bowl of hummus. All the apples and plums from the weekend have been processed too — the freezer is now stocked with four fruit crumbles, plus one for our tea and another to take round to Auntie.

For his sweet tooth, I baked a batch of orange and sultana biscuits, and while the oven was on I slipped in two jacket potatoes. The skins came out perfectly crisp and delicious.

Domestic goddess mode continued with bathrooms scrubbed and a load of washing hung out — all while listening to the final book in my trilogy.

Paul’s off work tomorrow, so we’ve a free day together. Likely we’ll pop in to see G — she’s been very quiet this week.

Today’s photo is of one of the flowers we planted last week. Its colour is so vivid it keeps stopping me in my tracks.
