Surprising

I was surprised to see this blue plaque on the wall of the newly built medical centre housing my GP practice. (I popped in to make an appointment for a routine blood test, offered one in a month’s time, far too late. Cannot understand why I could get a next day or certainly within a week appointment in the old cramped building for a blood test. Now have to go to the hospital! Dreading needing an actual appointment!) anyway, googled William Booth and found he spent some time in Walsall organising open air meetings and missions, his account of them was really interesting. Coincidentally I’d walked past the Salvation Army hall on my way and seen that it had been turned into a meeting venue. How times change.
