A time for everything

Farewell England/ Hello Cincinnati

Monday
All good things must come to an end, and after 11 days in Iceland, followed by two weeks in England, it was time to head home today. Our flight from Manchester to Atlanta was at 12.30, and it’s only about 25 minutes from Janet and John’s to the airport, so we didn’t need to get up at an unreasonable hour. The worst of the rush hour had died down, so we had a good drive to the airport, dropped the rental car off and took the shuttle to the airport, where there was time for a coffee and a pastry while we waited. Our plane left on time, and the captain told us we were in for a good smooth flight, and it would take only 7 hours and 45 minutes rather than the scheduled 9 hours. The flip side of that was that when we arrived in Atlanta, since we were so early, there was another plane still at our gate so we had to wait about 15 minutes on the tarmac. Nonetheless, this left us ample time to get through immigration, re-enter security, and get something to eat before our short flight to Cincinnati. We arrived in Cincy about 8,25 pm and arrived home about 9.30 pm, or 2.30 am according to our body clocks! So we just had a drink, and went to bed!
