Never Enough Volleyball
My men's team had a bye for the past two weeks, the beach is devoid of players (and people in general), and training at the Unidad won't start until our return from the United States, so I am in a bit of a volleyball funk. Happily, the Pan American Games have been taking place in Mexico City and the local sports channel has been airing matches this past week. We watched the United States National Team lose in five long sets to Puerto Rico and watched the Mexican National Team dominate Argentina and stage an amazing come from behind five set victory over the United States. Today was the final match between Brazil and Mexico (my two favorite countries south of the border). Played before what looked like a sellout crowd, Mexico could get nothing going and went down in three sets (not too surprising since Brazil didn't lose a set all tournament), but felt good about their finish, at least I think that is what the commentators and interviewees were saying. The coverage did interrupt my planned late afternoon photo excursion, so this is as good as it gets today.
