Thinking ahead, for once
I've been meaning to do this for two or three years, to make a sketch of all the plants in the beds, their colour, height, and when they flower, so that I can move them around in the spring if need be. Every year at about this time, I say to myself (lazily) Och, I'll remember. But of course, I don't.
Didn't enjoy it very much, it was tedious and unrewarding. I did the very long bed, then three smaller beds, and thought I'd finished. Then realised that I'd forgotten about the other side of the garden!
We moved Tom into his new flat in Comely Bank today, round the corner from Waitrose. It's a nice flat. We shopped at Waitrose and I bought him wine, soap powder and toilet paper - the essentials.
