Rocks and Stones

The Tiny Tuesday challenge is Rocks and Stones.  My blip shows some of the ones I have collected over the years from various beaches in the UK and USA.  Thanks to ApolloFly and Nicoiseannie for hosting.

Had my weekly appointment at the Blaydon Care Centre for my leg ulcer.  Today the appointment time was 12.20pm.  Like last week I had to take the dressing and bandages off myself at home and wash my leg with warm water  and then moisturise it with Hydramol cream.   I took a photos of the dressing and my leg just to keep a record.  ( I wasn't sure whether to add a photo as an Extra but thought maybe it wasn't a good idea.  I may add it later)

Last week at my appointment the nurse took a swab to see if the leg was infected.  As I hadn't heard anything I assumed it wasn't infected.  However at 10.50am today I got a phone call from my local Health Centre to say that one of the GPs had prescribed antibiotics and I could pick them up from the chemist.  So it turns out the leg is infected after all which is probably why the pain has been worse for the last 2 weeks.

Caught a bus to the Metrocentre and then another bus to the Blaydon Care Centre.  Yet again I saw a different nurse who had to read through my notes.  I told her about the phone call and being prescribed antibiotics.  She wasn't happy that it had taken so long for them to be prescribed and she was going to speak to her supervisor to see why I didn't get them sooner.

She put a  new dressing  on as well as some padding and then the compression bandages.  Leg has been really sore for the rest of the day.   I'm hoping the antibiotics kick in in the next few days and the pain will ease.

Got a bus back to The Metrocentre.  Had a 25 min wait for a bus home so I did a quick shop in Savers and Poundland.  Got off the bus in the village and picked up my antibiotics at the chemists.  Didn't feel up to walking home so I got the bus.

Felt exhausted so just relaxed for the rest of the day - elevated my leg for a while whilst watching TV.

Weather today was cooler and it s been quite rainy.  The Metrocentre was really busy - lots of families avoiding the wet weather.

Steps today - 5,803
