At Last...
Well nearly!
Another bad night (doctor tomorrow).
I phoned the fitter first thing. It sounded like he had completely forgotten he was meant to come yesterday - but he said that he had arranged for somebody to come this morning.
I went for a pick-up/drop off for The Larder while SWMBO waited for the fitter.
Traffic was almost non existent, the store has already opened the loading doors and the lady from the other charity I met last week was already in and had sorted the stuff out. What a lovely lady.
I arrived at Strathbrock and two of the staff were at the back door having a break and they took the 2 crates in so I didn't have to carry anything.
I got back to the house (again, no hold-ups) and a short time later a company van from the kitchen suppliers passed the window.
I went out to see how lost he was .... and he had parked up outside.
Apparently he worked out the numbering system and had seen out door and house number.
We were off to a good start.
He accepted a coffee but didn't let that stop him fitting our missing 'cut down' door - and really liked my solution to the problem of the sloping roof preventing the cupboards opening fully and thinks it should be used as a design feature to break up 'expanses' of solid colour.
Unfortunately he hadn't been told about the missing filter for the extractor fan or the slight radiator leak, so he sat on the phone and made sure that the filter was ordered and that the leak would be dealt with 'quickly' (he had 'borrowed' the work van which had nothing in it to cope with such things to get to us ASAP).
We had a walk (which was when I took the picture of the acorns in the extras ..... there is a good crop this years) and I spent a short time at the lathe ... it helps stretch my back.
I have been shouting at swearing at the computer and Photoshop this evening.
PS has done an 'update' which had buggered up my workflow system and I cannot figure out how to get it to back or reset stuff.
And that is another busy day gone....
