Back view of Fairly Famous Person
JR has rallied round today possibly because of the glorious afternoon and the promise of a coffee or some treat while out. We had a wander round the neighbourhood, and it was like mid summer! Balmy - hot- even, still and leafily gorgeous. What a great Bank Holiday Weekend for all those visitors.
We wandered along to Summerhall, and it was mobbed! Super to see it so busy. We had a look in a couple of exhibitions and had a drink in the pub and watched the staff trying to cope with the crowds. Making tricky cocktails, and indeed, having to bash the ice in the sink at the bar, isn’t the best thing to do when you’re mobbed and maybe a bit short staffed. People stood in a nice line patiently, though.
My famous people count this Festival has been not worth mentioning, but I will. I have seen the young one the only one still alive from Dad’s Army, and the (youngish) woman with grey sticking up hair on the Review Show. No idea what their names are… Not impressed? Neither am I.
And today I saw John Byrne cycling by as we walked home. Though anyone outside Scotland may not have heard of him. I wasn’t quick enough to get the camera out, or else he was pretty fast at cycling. This is him - and you’ll have to take my word on that. But I see him all the time, so he doesn’t really count in my Festival Famous Folk Count.
Still tingling about the exciting news, blipmates. Tingle with me!
