Obi

Introducing Obi. Richard has severe weakness in his arms and his hand function is limited. This makes eating a challenge. The neurological OT applied for funding so that Obi could try and help. He is very polite and bows when switched on. He scoops up food and after been taught the correct height lifts the spoon level with Richard’s mouth so he can take a mouthful when he is ready. After a few mouthfuls it then scrapes the food into the centre before continuing. The arm is operated by two pads. The white moves the arm from dish to dish. The black scoops the food up and lifts it up.

It is work in progress so we have stated with dessert so no problem of food going cold. Consistency is important in order for it to pick up the right amount.
