The Old Tramway

An overcast day today with a few rumbles of thunder and some big spots of rain. Walked the Dartmoor Way from Bovey Tracey to Haytor Vale on Dartmoor, and back again (about 8m in total). The route partially follows the Templer Way with its granite tramway which was once used to transport granite from the Haytor quarries to the port of Teignmouth. The section which runs through Yarner Wood is lined with beech trees and is remarkably well defined.
