A job well done
Well the man was booked to come this morning to repair the fence which had blown down on to the back of the greenhouse. It was a fine sunny day and he arrived soon after nine, his buddy arriving shortly afterwards. They cut down all the climbers - mostly ivy, from the fallen fence behind the greenhouse and I carted it all around to the front of the house where I shall eventually get it chopped up and taken to the dump. A huge amount - and then I raked the path and took the blower over it too.
They went off to the timber place to buy some new posts and slats and I brought the three pieces of trellis up from the garage to put on the top of the fence. By 1pm all was completed and it looks pretty good. Now we have to stain the new timber and sort out the soil areas beneath the fence.
Now of course the greenhouse is entirely unshaded so I went off to Poppies Garden Centre for shading paint, but they didn't have any, and the young man behind the counter didn't appear to know what I was talking about. He suggested that I use ordinary white paint! I couldn't find any in Oban, so I'm not sure what to do if this hot sunshine persists.
So tomorrow I'll tidy up the spare bits of timber and all will be good, I hope!
