Edzell Castle Gardens
We stopped here on the way north to Huntly. The gardens and castle were idyllic though plagued by swooping swallows nesting in the castle ruins.
The box hedges say "Dum Spiro Spero" which is the family motto of the Glenesk Lindsays - "While I breathe I hope".
